Frequently asked questions.

The short answers. If yours isn't here, contact us.

What exactly does cvLens do?+

You drop in a CV (PDF, DOCX, or a screenshot) and optionally a job description. In under a minute you get a structured analysis: match score, ATS compatibility, red flags, missing keywords, and a concrete improvement plan. You can then fix everything in the built-in ATS-friendly editor and export.

Is it really free?+

Yes — free during beta, no card required. Paid plans may come later, but the core analyzer will keep a free tier.

What happens to my CV? Is my data safe?+

OCR runs locally in your browser, so nothing leaves your machine before you press Send. Analyses are stored in your account so you can re-open them, and you can delete them at any time. We never sell or share your CV.

What file formats are supported?+

PDF and DOCX for upload, plus images/screenshots via local OCR. You can also paste plain text. The editor exports PDF, DOCX, and JSON.

What does the ATS score mean?+

It estimates how well your CV would survive an Applicant Tracking System for a given vacancy: keyword coverage, section structure, and parseability. Every missing keyword comes with a suggested fix, so the score is actionable, not just a grade.

What's the difference between General and Comparative mode?+

General mode assesses your CV on its own — level, red flags, structure. Comparative mode analyzes it against a specific job description and adds match scoring, keyword gaps, and tailored interview questions.

What are JobLens and HireLens?+

Two upcoming platforms built on the same engine: JobLens is a job-search platform for candidates, HireLens is a screening platform for recruiters. Both are coming soon.
